"I Want A Forest", 2013

"I Want A Forest" is a series of pinhole diptychs and triptychs created using an old square receipt box.

Cut sheets of gelatin silver paper were placed along different walls inside the box and exposed at the same time, allowing multiple angles of the same object to be captured.

The paper negatives were then transferred as a flattened version of their original configuration.

The spatial flattening of trees pointing toward the sky is meant to displace the viewer from what they would typically expect to see.

Additionally, the capture of trees by way of a paper medium is self-reflexive to an acute degree.
